大部分的油青种翡翠都是豆种翡翠，水头很差，晶体的颗粒比较粗大，没有水润的感觉，颜色巨乎都是单一的灰色或者是灰黑色的，非常的死板，只适合一般价格低廉的翡翠挂件，价格低的为几十元左右，高的在两三百元左右。
只有少部分的油青种翡翠能够达到糯种翡翠，颜色都是在灰色的色调带着一点蓝色的色调，透明度相对的高一些，整个翡翠也是充满了活力，这样的油青种翡翠价格在几百元到一两千之间。
高档的油青种翡翠数量是很稀少的，颜色也是非常的均匀，透明度也很好，还具有一定的荧光效应，这样的油青种翡翠色调没有沉闷的感觉，反而在灰色中显露出了阳刚和正气，这样的油青种翡翠的价格会比较的高或者是很高，价格在几千元到几万元不等。
